KBE transformed a circa 1960s block building into an award-winning transitional living shelter. The 29,000 sf, 100 resident shelter is designed to move people from homelessness to integrated living in the community. Among the project challenges were unsuitable soils and extensive shoring of adjacent buildings.
Noteworthy: The project was recognized with the Small Projects Award from the Connecticut Building Congress.
