Location: Windsor Locks, CT
General Contractor for the 240-room, full service hotel and 300-car below-grade parking garage, set between Terminals A and B of Bradley International Airport. KBE also constructed the elevated connector, which runs through the hotel, linking the two passenger terminals.
The project was carefully phased to minimize any disruption to travelers. The connector was completed first. Work on the hotel’s foundation began as the connector neared completion. The connector was then opened as the construction of the hotel continued.
Clear communication and intricate coordination among team members, as well as with the contractor for Terminal A, the FAA and the Aeronautics Division of the Connecticut DOT, was crucial to ensure the success of these concurrent construction projects.
Hotel amenities include a complete health club with an indoor swimming pool, saunas, lockers and exercise facility; 12 meeting rooms; a full-service 200-seat restaurant and grand ballroom for banquet functions.
