KBE Builds Two TD Banks in Connecticut

FARMINGTON, Conn., Feb. 2, 2013 — KBE Building Corporation (KBE) has completed construction on two TD Bank branch offices located in Manchester and Hartford, CT. Both buildings were designed and constructed for LEED certification.

The $2.1 million, 12,000 square-foot bank in downtown Hartford, CT is a two-story space with banking services at street level and corporate offices on the second floor. Construction began in July 2012 and was completed in December 2012. The bank was designed and constructed to LEED standards, and is pursuing formal certification from the USGBC. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to provide verification that a building was designed and built using aspects of efficient environmental health conservation strategies. KBE has completed, or is in the process of completing, 22 LEED-Certified projects.

The $2 million, 3,800 square-foot, single-story project in Manchester, CT began construction in October 2011. The bank project, which has been certified LEED Gold by the USGBC, opened in May 2012.

Both bank projects were constructed by KBE’s Special Projects Division, a subdivision within KBE that provides exclusive support for construction projects valued at less than $2 million.
