President & CEO | Principal
As President and CEO, Mike establishes and implements corporate policy, procedures, and organizational structure, with a keen eye toward exceptional staffing. He is the hands-on manager and strategic planner for the company. Mike was named President of the firm at the age of 32, and has since guided KBE through exceptional growth, even during challenging economic times. He drives the firm’s in-depth strategic planning process and consistently challenges every KBE associate to continue to grow and develop into strong leaders and top performers. Mike graduated with a BS in construction engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University and has worked in the construction industry since 1984. He joined the firm in 1984 and acquired the firm in 2007.

James Culkin, DBIA
Chief Operating Officer | Executive Vice President | Principal
Jim was named Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President in 2015. He oversees KBE’s Field Operations, Preconstruction and Estimating, as well as long-range strategic planning for the firm. Jim’s construction industry career began in 1986, working on projects in New York City and Long Island, among other locations. He joined KBE in 1996 as a Project Manager and was later promoted to Project Executive. He received his BS in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Jim served on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Building Congress from 2015 through 2018.

Timothy M. O’Brien
Chief Financial Officer | Executive Vice President | Principal
Named Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President in 2015, Timothy O’Brien is responsible for all aspects of KBE’s accounting and financial functions, as well as strategic planning for KBE’s long-term growth. Tim has more than 20 years of experience in business and financial management roles in the construction industry. Before joining KBE in 1996, he worked for a national development and construction firm in Phoenix. Tim received his BS in business administration from Bryant College. Tim is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association and for the last two years has served as Chairman of the Board of Associated Builders and Contractors.

Vice President of Human Resources
Andrea directs all aspects of organizational development at KBE. Prior to joining KBE, she led the human resources department at Bolt Insurance, a start-up company with offices in Connecticut, Florida, and Texas that Andrea helped grow from two employees to 200. Before her time at Bolt, Andrea managed staffing and employee relations at Konica Minolta for seven years. She earned a bachelor’s in education from Arcadia University and a master’s in organizational psychology from the University of Hartford in 2005. In her spare time, Andrea volunteers at the Human Resources Association of Central Connecticut (HRACC), assisting youths breaking into the job market, those reentering the job market, or those changing careers. Formerly Chair of HRACC, Andrea provides interview and speaking skills training, and business etiquette workshops.
Robert G. Dunn, Esq.
Vice President | General Counsel | Principal
Robert Dunn joined KBE in 1999 and is a Vice President and KBE’s in-house general counsel. He holds a BS in Architectural Engineering from the University of Kansas, and received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School. In addition to general compliance oversight and duties as KBE’s ethics officer, Bob proactively oversees contract negotiations, risk management, and dispute avoidance efforts to strengthen relationships among KBE’s clients and vendors, and to ensure the success of KBE’s projects. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, the Hartford County Bar Association, and the Architectural Engineering Institute.
Vice President of Business Development
Allan leads the firm’s Business Development Team. He received his JD from Georgetown University Law Center and was previously in private practice, specializing in construction and surety law before leaving the practice to focus his career on business development. Since he joined KBE in 1996, Allan has been instrumental in developing and implementing innovative processes and systems to support the firm’s procurement efforts, all part of KBE’s long-term strategic planning initiative.

Antonio (Tony) Mancini
Vice President of Field Operations, Northeast Region | Principal
Antonio Mancini is a Vice President of Field Operations for KBE, and is responsible for the management of field construction and project management staff and services on assigned projects. He began his construction industry career in 1990 and joined KBE as a Project Superintendent in 1994. Tony has worked on a variety of project types over the years as he moved into his roles as a Project Manager and then as Project Executive. He was named Director of Field Operations in 2011, and was promoted to Vice President of Field Operations in 2013. Tony holds a BS in Construction Engineering technology from Central Connecticut State University.
Anthony (Tony) Maselli
Vice President of Field Operations, Northeast Region
One of two Vice Presidents of Field Operations for KBE, Tony Maselli is responsible for the management of all field construction and project management staff and services for the Northeast Region. Tony started his construction career in 1987 and joined KBE as Project Superintendent in 1994. He was promoted to Project Manager and subsequently Project Executive. He oversees a wide array of projects, including higher education, senior living, corporate, hospitality, and retail. He was promoted to Director of Field Operations in 2011 and to Vice President of Field Operations in 2013. He manages our highly experienced staff of project managers, superintendents, assistant project managers and superintendents, and project engineers. Tony received his BS in Construction Management from Central Connecticut State University.
Managing Director, Mid-Atlantic Office
John Davies has worked in the construction industry for more than 25 years, including work for general contractors in the Mid-Atlantic and New England. His experience has provided him with a diverse background in development, design, preconstruction, project management, project team recruitment, supervision, and overall project responsibility. He has worked on a wide range of projects on both the construction and the owner side, including commercial, healthcare, office, residential, education, municipal, retail/mixed-use, hospitality, military, and sports and recreation. Mr. Davies earned a Business Administration degree from High Point University and a degree in Construction Management/Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
