
KBE employs an innovative “Badging” program on all of our project sites. This mandatory program helps us confirm the U.S. work eligibility of trade contractors’ employees working on KBE’s projects, and to confirm their status as eligible employees and not independent contractors.
Every worker on our sites must provide KBE with I-9s and W-4s prior to the start of work, enabling us to verify their worker status. Once approved, the employee is provided with a badge that must be presented and verified each day. Workers who cannot demonstrate that they are legally documented workers and employees covered by Worker’s Compensation insurance are not allowed to work on KBE’s job sites.
The Badging program can also be extended to track trade-specific safety certifications, Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), and other client-mandated requirements.
