Laying the Foundation

for Success.

At KBE, you won’t just shadow—you’ll lead. We give you real responsibilities and projects from day one. You will become part of the KBE Team.

We’re not here to check boxes, we’re here to build the next generation of construction industry leaders.

Join the Team. Not the Sidelines.

We don’t believe in shadowing. Our interns take on real responsibilities, get mentored by leaders, and build the kind of confidence that leads to full-time careers. You'll be seen, supported, and set up to grow. Build confidence, skill, and meaningful connections through an internship that leads to lasting opportunity.

12-Week Construction Internship at KBE

During your summer at KBE, you’ll dive into preconstruction and field operations. Here’s what your experience might include:

  • Supporting project startups and closeouts

  • Managing RFIs, submittals, and project documentation

  • Attending team meetings and contributing to punch‑lists

  • Assisting estimators with bid preparations and data management

  • Working on active job sites under experienced supervision

We look for enthusiastic, curious students ready to push ideas forward. If you’re studying construction management or a related field, we want to hear from you.

  • “The team of PM’s, Supers, and Field Engineers were just a great group to be with. Their personalities bounced off each other and I learned how to solve problems more effectively.”

  • “The department’s helpful and welcoming nature truly speaks to the culture cultivated here. The willingness to help and offer support establishes a positive lasting memory.”

  • “Two weeks after I started, I had already learned and understood a lot. I felt like a part of the team, not just an intern.”

  • “I have seen blueprints come to life; [KBE’s] internship lays the foundation for a future where theory meets practice.”

  • “Seeing a project being built ground-up has given me a much greater understanding of the construction field and of what is required of a construction manager.”

  • “Everyone has had to put in countless hours of effort to achieve their goals in this field. No matter how small someone’s role is, it matters greatly in the success of a project.”

  • “I think the best part of KBE’s internship is simply that I got to try both preconstructions and field operations. Many companies only offer one or the other, making this [experience] unique and valuable.”

The KBE Internship Experience

You’ll take on meaningful responsibilities, gain visibility into both field and office operations, and get mentorship from leaders who care about your future.

At KBE, interns don’t just observe — they contribute, collaborate, and build toward careers that last.

  • Gain firsthand experience managing the details that keep projects on track. From RFIs and punch lists to team meetings and closeouts, you’ll work side by side with field teams to learn how great builds actually happen.

    • Assist with project startup and closeout

    • Assist with the processing of Requests for Information (RFI) and Submittals

    • Update and maintain project documents and project files

    • Compose project related correspondence as requested

    • Attend project team meetings and subcontractor meetings

    • Assist with creating, maintaining and tracking completion of “To Do” lists and punch lists

  • In precon, precision matters. You’ll get into the details behind every bid — reviewing specs, coordinating subcontractors, and managing data post-bid. It’s your chance to understand what drives a winning proposal before the first shovel hits the ground.

Step into the action before construction begins.

    • Manage data post-bid

    • Set up new projects

    • Review bid requirements

    • Manufacture and distribute documents

    • Perform phone call solicitations and screenings with regards to upcoming bids

    • Update online bid management system with bidder status

  • You’ll work alongside seasoned professionals across Estimating and Field Operations. KBE interns learn early, add real value, and are encouraged from day one. Many of our interns return as full-time team members because we believe in building careers, not just projects.
