Construction is officially underway on the next chapter of StoneRidge Senior Living in Mystic, Connecticut.
Following a ceremonial groundbreaking attended by community leaders, elected officials, and project partners, KBE Building Corporation has officially begun construction as the Construction Manager at Risk for the community's $51 million expansion. Developed by LCS Development, the multi-phase project will add approximately 136,000 square feet of new Independent Living and Assisted Living space, along with modern amenities and renovated gathering spaces designed to support the community's continued growth and evolving resident needs.

LCS Development and StoneRidge Senior Living celebrate the upcoming expansion in Mystic, CT.
Expanding a Community Designed for Connection
The expansion will include a new four-story building featuring 54 Independent Living apartments and 14 Assisted Living residences, creating opportunities for more seniors to become part of the vibrant StoneRidge community.
Beyond the new residences, the project will introduce hospitality-inspired amenities that encourage wellness, social engagement, and lifelong learning. Residents will enjoy four new dining venues, an art and maker space, a multipurpose room, theater and reflections room, woodworking workshop, and more than 4,000 square feet of dedicated wellness space, including a fully equipped fitness studio. Existing amenity spaces throughout the campus will also be renovated to reflect the expectations of today's senior living communities.
The expansion represents the fourth phase of StoneRidge's long-term master plan. Today, the 32-acre campus is home to more than 360 residents across nine connected buildings, reflecting the community's continued growth over the past two decades.
Building the Next Chapter
As the Construction Manager at Risk, KBE has worked closely with LCS Development and SB&A Architects from the earliest planning stages, helping guide preconstruction efforts and now leading the project into construction. This collaborative approach supports efficient decision-making while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget throughout the expansion.
Construction is expected to take approximately 18 months, with the first residents anticipated to move into the new expansion in late 2027.
